People having noisy sex has topped a poll of what annoys tenants the most about their housemates.
Research by Manchester-based residential lettings agent Jordan's found that 37% of the 500 people it surveyed listed being noisy in bed as their top annoyance followed by smoking at 23%.
The rest of the top five was stealing food, reality TV addicts and leaving hairs in the sink or shower.
Jordan's said that, with the average deposit required for a first-time buyer now more than £44,000, many people are having to rent for longer and many are in shared properties.
William Jordan, managing director of Jordan's, said:
"When you share with other housemates, it's important to take their views and feelings into consideration. There are lots of advantages to living in a shared flat or house, however, it's important to set rules from the start."
