Hi in 2006 I wanted a loan so I got talked into having a secured loan by the advisor on the phone . I didn’t know what a secured loan meant but she made out to me that I wouldn’t lose my home if it was secured. Unlike a non secured loan , this meant to me it was like some kind of insurance and my house would be safe . This wasn’t to be the case as I am now homeless . My house was paid for I had no mortgage nothing everything was cleared when my husband died 2004. I had no debt but 2 young children to care for by myself. So I wanted this loan just to help in the meantime. Then the children finished school and my widow’s benefits and other benifits finished . I found out by chance that this loan was a remortgage and not the secured loan I thought. I couldn’t borrow any more money as they said I have no equity left . I ended up with a £50.000 loan my house was valued at £110.000 they sold it for £60.000 I have received nothing they don’t contact me even though I passed on an address an tel no straight away. I then asked for the application that I signed I remember signing it blank and then returning it to them now that I asked for it back . Their company filled it out and they have lied on it and stated I had a morgage in place and was now remortgaging to clear other debt all this has been lies no wonder I ended up with no home.
