The government has launched a website which brings together information on the different home ownership schemes including Right to Buy, Help to Buy and the Help to Buy ISA.

The site www.ownyourhome.gov.uk aims “to help hard working people who are looking to own their own home”.

According to the British Social Attitudes Survey, 86% of people have the ambition to own their own home, and the government aims to support them with a target of helping one million people into home ownership through government backed initiatives by 2020.

Own Your Home includes information on Help to Buy, Starter Homes, Right To Buy and Shared Ownership as well as schemes for the both disabled and members of the armed forces.

Since 2010, more than 200,000 people across the UK have benefitted from the government’s home buying initiatives.

Visitors to the government’s new website are able to find information on the schemes that could help them by answering a few simple questions.
