Lloyds Bank has announced it will offer its mortgage customers free legal assistance on their property purchase.

The lender its new offer would help customers save money and reduce the time it takes for legal work to be carried out on a property.

Lloyds Bank said it will pay for all basic legal fees on a property purchase for buyers who use its econveyancing service.

The offer is available from today, Monday 7 September, and will run until Sunday 1 November 2015.

The bank’s econveyancing service allows buyers to choose from a panel of recommended surveyors, based on price, distance or rating.

Andy Mason, mortgages director at Lloyds Bank, said the lender was looking at more ways it could support buyers.

“Through our mortgage offers, we’re always looking at ways of delighting our customers and giving them more for their money,” he said.

“This latest offer will help to ease the financial burden on them whilst helping to make the home buying process as stress free as possible.”

Rates for home movers and first-time buyers start at 1.84% for a two-year fix at 60% loan-to-value, with product fees of £995. This offer is available for Club Lloyds loyalty customers and is priced at 2.04% otherwise.
