No change for the Base Rate as the Monetary Policy Committee votes to hold
Interest rates have been held again at their record low of 0.5% in February, for the 84th month in a row.
The Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) voted unanimously to keep rates on hold this month.
The decision is welcome news for mortgage borrowers as it means that those on a variable rate mortgage are unlikely to see any imminent hikes in their repayments, as well as tracker and fixed rate mortgage customers.
Experts now believe that we won’t see any increase in Base Rate until the end of this year or even 2017.
