Jason Omar of Ormesby, Middlesbrough was convicted of mortgage fraud 18 months ago and has already served the custodial element of his two-and-a-half-year sentence for the crime.

It has been agreed Omar will repay £110,690 to the state under the Proceeds of Crime Act, according to the Evening Gazette.

He has made £406,472 from criminal activity due to his part in a mortgage fraud and has been ordered to pay all the money he has available.

Judge Howard Crowson said the sum must be paid in the next six months or Omar will face another two years in prison.
