2,000 sign up for NewBuy scheme
Over 2,000 homes have been reserved using the government
The scheme, which allows buyers to purchase a new build home with a 5% deposit, launched in March. NewBuy products are currently available through six lenders: aldermore, Halifax, Nationwide, RBS, Santander and Woolwich.
The HBF also announced that 50 builders are now participating in the scheme.
Stewart Baseley, executive chairman of HBF, commeted: “Reaching 2000 NewBuy reservations clearly demonstrates the customer need for such a scheme.
“Over the coming years NewBuy will make a real difference and help tens of thousands of people realise their ambitions of home ownership.
