He is a critic of mortgage guarantees, wants more houses to be built and is closely following the Eurozone crisis.

Meet the latest member of the financial Twitterati – the radioactive, gamma-rayed, muscle-bound, capped-up ECONOMIST HULK.

Hulk, who has gained thousands of followers @ECONOMISTHULK in just two days, does not hold back when offering his views on the economy.

On Help to Buy, Hulk said: “HULK LIKE HOUSES, BUT THINK OSBORNE MORTGAGE SUBSIDY PLAN BAD. WILL NOT MEAN MORE HOUSES FOR HULK, JUST MORE EXPENSIVE.”

He added: “HULK COULD BUILD HOUSES HIMSELF, BUT CAN’T GET PLANNING PERMISSION FROM HIS LOCAL AUTHORITY. HULK WANT OSBORNE TO LET HIM BUILD HOUSES.”

However, Hulk also pummelled Labour, saying: “HULK CONFUSED BY @EDBALLSMP. WANTS FISCAL STIMULUS BUT TO KEEP 2% INFLATION TARGET. HULK NOT AWARE OF MACRO MODEL WHERE THIS MAKES SENSE.”

Hulk, who shares his wisdom with many in the financial services industry as well as economists and actuaries, has also commented on the crisis in Cyprus and the Office of National Statistics.

The Incredible one explained his philosophy in a brief but simple statement: “WHEN FACTS CHANGE, HULK SMASH FACTS UNTIL THEY FIT HIS PRE-CONCEIVED THEORY. HULK CALL THIS ‘ECONOMETRICS’.”
